Half-Day Retreat on Doubt and Deconstruction
On the first Saturday between Jesus' crucifixion (Good Friday) and Jesus' resurrection (Easter Sunday), it was not looking good for followers of Christ. Their faith in Jesus had fallen apart. So on this Saturday, we're going to give our attention to the doubts and deconstruction in our own lives.

About the Event
This half-day retreat is part of our retreat rhythm this year. Because we've experienced the health of pausing our normal activities and giving our full attention to listen to God and seek him, we pull away for half days, weekends in small groups, and weekends in large all-church retreats.Â
On April 8, we are making space to focus on our doubts and deconstruction. No question is off limits. No doubt is unholy. Our goal is to be a courageous space where we can honestly reflect on faith. We will not tie everything up in a nice bow and solve every doubt, but we will consider what God might be doing in the midst of our doubts and deconstruction process. Â
Our guided retreat will include the following:
-Discussing ways doubt and deconstruction are integral to the biblical picture of following Jesus
-Sharing our own questions and reflecting on where we are in our faith journey
-Time to be alone to read Scripture, short reflections on doubt, and pray
-Lunch (provided) and conversation on the complexities of doubt and deconstruction
-Brainstorming possible next steps and considering and how God might be responding to us  Â
For our time alone, you might want to enjoy the outdoors or take a walk down the bike path, so bring appropriate clothes for being outside.
You do not have to be a Christian or an active part of FBC to attend. Everyone is welcome.
