welcome ministry

The goal of the welcome ministry is to create an environment at FBC that will encourage guests to want to come back. At FBC we strive to demonstrate thatall people are significant to God and to us. We must communicate this truth so our guests will experience acceptance and grace; in turn they may consider becoming part of our church family. Contact us if you'd like to help out in any of these areas:

christian counseling

Life is filled with predictable, but challenging transitions like parenting, surviving adolescence, empty nesting, becoming a grandparent, retirement, moving . . . just to name a few. The list seems endless. Sometimes life throws us a curve and we have difficulty coping with death, addictions, adultery, serious illnesses and other life crises. Whether you need counseling as an individual, couple, family, or for children, there are professional resources available. FBC’s pastors are available to make referrals to Christian counselors in our area. Feel free to contact them by phone or email (which can be found on our staff page). Additionally, Community Counseling Associates has office hours at our FBC Davis campus. For more information about professional care through CCA, visit www.communitycounselingassociates.org.

premarital mentoring program

Why Marriage Preparation? Our society requires intensive training to receive a driver’s license for one simple reason: things happen when we allow someone to drive a car without first learning the critical driving skills. The same happens when we allow a couple to be married without learning the critical relational skills necessary for a great marriage.

It is our desire at First Baptist Church of Davis that every person united in marriage through our church recognizes the importance of having Jesus involved in their relationship. We are committed to seeing couples off to a good start in their marriage far beyond the church doors.
