The Missions program at FBC seeks to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ locally and globally. (Matthew 28:16-20). Our desire is to educate and motivate people regarding missions and to support and encourage our missionaries with prayer, letters, and financial support. Additionally, we work with individuals who sense God?s leading into global missions.
FBC supports 17 missionary families who work with agencies such as Wycliffe, Frontiers, YWAM, Pioneers, and more. Learn about some of our missionaries here.
IRWS: Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter—The IRWS is a
community based effort for congregations to provide cold-weather
shelter and hospitality to the homeless. FBC will act as hosts the weeks
of Dec 11-17 and Jan 1-7. There are many ways to help, from offering
rides to providing part of a meal. Contact Neil Redenbaugh for more
information: firstname.lastname@example.org or 530.-758-7100 ext. 11.
YCFC: Yolo County Foster Care—Every month in Yolo County we have foster children who are being sent out of the county, which makes an
already difficult situation much harder. What is more, our current foster and adoptive families face unique challenges and often face them alone. As a result, we’re working to aid foster and adoptive families by creating support systems for them so that the trajectory of these at-risk children would be dramatically altered. This is the good news: there’s a role for nearly everyone to play from providing rides to house cleaning, and from temporary care of foster children to taking in a foster child. Keep your eyes open for more information coming soon. Contact Dana Gross for more information: email@example.com or 530-219-8961.
ISS: International Students and Scholars—A number of different events are available for sharing your lives with International Students and
Scholars at UCD:
1. Nov. 1st there will be an international luncheon offered to find out more information about this ministry. Please sign up in the courtyard.
2. Fridays on the UCD campus there is a brown bag lunch
discussion at the corner of the MU.
3. There is a potluck on the 1st Saturday of the month to
welcome new students and their families.
4. Nov. 19 there will be a Thanksgiving meal here in
the Fellowship Hall.
